Dome Stadium This is a drawing of a 100-ton sand jack that was designed by a PWA principal. The jack was to be used to support the column legs of the center tower for the King County Dome stadium. The sand jacks were to be used to lower the center tower to accommodate the deflection of the dome roofs center ring beam. The jack was load tested by the University of Washington's Department of Civil Engineering in their testing facilities to approximately 500-tons. |
